West Brompton, London

Brief

The property is an early twentieth century home. The existing bathroom was narrow and dated, and the client wanted it transformed into a spa-like environment invoking the soothing sensations of luxury holidaying.

Solution

Stephen Ball completely reconfigured the space, relocating the door from one end to centrally in the room. This freed-up space for a freestanding bath to be fitted. More freestanding objects – brassware and porcelain fittings – were used to expand the sense of space in the modestly sized interior. Minimalist joins, as well as concealed lighting, ensure the room is elegant and fuss-free. Quality materials were fitted throughout, including a heated stone floor, rainfall shower head, Japanese-style 'washing' toilet, and elegant Vola taps and towel warmer. The space is now a calm and luxe oasis.
